This was a graduate school project for Dr. William Ferris, former head of the National Endowment for the Humanities. It is a massive archive of videos, photos, interviews and live music. 2004.

Palais Ideal in France
This is a palace in Southern France built by a mailman in the late 19th century. It is made completely of stones and is covered with inscribed poems and sculptures. 2001, redesigned 2005.

"Sadtomato" was my AOL screen name back in 1994. It was taken from a random R.E.M. song and was the 1st of 50 screen names that wasn't taken. Yes, I'm tired of it, but too many people know about it to change it now.

Dozens of people from around the world have e-mailed me through my sites. My favorites are young people from Eastern Europe who have attended the festivals or visited the villages I went to. Others are artists or preservationists interested in folk art.
